SHOBOX RESULTS FREDDY HERNANDEZ AND FRANCISO CONTRERAS POST WINS
By Francisco Salazar at ringside

Welterweight Freddy “El Riel” Hernandez (28-1, 19 KOs) scored a spectacular fifth round KO over former world champion DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley (36-13-1, 21 KOs) on Friday night at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Calif. A very competitive, good action fight ended suddenly when Hernandez laid out Corley with a huge right hand. Time was 1:48.

Hard-hitting, undefeated junior welterweight Francisco Contreras (13-0, 12 KOs) passed his toughest test in spectacular fashion, scoring a first round knockout of Juan Castaneda, Jr. (16-3, 12 KOs). A sharp combination finished Castaneda after 98 seconds.
—–
Former amateur star Lateef Kayode remained unbeaten with a second round knockout over durable David Whitton in a scheduled six round bout. Whitton (10-12-1, 6 KO’s) came to fight, scoring with straight right hands to the head of Kayode. Undeterred, Kayode (10-0, 9 KO’s) ended matters in the second, dropping Whitton with a left hand to the head. Whitton was on one knee as referee Jerry Cantu counted him out at 1:23.

TWITTER FILES: PAULIE MALIGNAGGI VS AMIR KHAN?
Reported by Admin  info@officialscorecard.com

Paulie Malignaggi is reporting today that his promoter Lou DiBella is in talks with Goldenboy Promotions to lock in a fight with Amir Khan. GBP loves the ideal. Now the ball is in Amir Khans court. Let's see if he is willing to sign the dotted line to face the MagicMan Paulie Malignaggi.

Malignaggi got his rematch with Juan Diaz a few months ago and proved that the first fight was a fluke in part by bad judging in Diaz hometown. Now with the win under his belt Paulie is looking to face the top fighters at 140lbs.

FREDDIE ROACH: SHANE YOU'RE JUST TOO GOOD FOR PACQUIAO
These are Freddie Roach's words that he reported to the La Times by way of Bill Dwyre. "Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter." I believe there is some truth and a lie mixed up in there.

Wow, so which one holds more truth to it? Not enough money? No, No, No, the fans would have paid good money to see that fight after Shane blew Margarito out and has the belt at welterweight and he was willing to come in at 145lbs.

Or is it really reason number 2. Shane your just too good for my very own fighter Manny Pacquiao? If I was a betting man I would say number 2. So many people accuse Floyd Mayweather of hand picking his opponents that nobody stops to think that Freddie Roach and Bob Arum hand picks Manny Pacquiao opponents as well. Their arguement is that Floyd handles his negotiations. You must remember that Pacquiao also has to agree with who he fights. The fighters say it all the time, "Whoever my management puts in front of me then that's who I will fight". This is far from the truth. Fighters themselves have to make that decision. Your management team throws a name at you and you have to decide whether to fight that person or not.

Interesting enough, that we wonder if Sugar Shane Mosely loses to Floyd Mayweather would Pacquiao be willing to fight him then if the negotiations fall through between Money Mayweather and Pacquiao again? What would the media and fans think if they tell Pacquiao that Shane took the test, why not you now?

Hmmm, that is something to think about. Let's see how this unfolds.
