LUIS RAMOS
Name: Luis Ramos

Record: 16-0, 8 KO

Division: Lightweight: 135 lbs

Luis Ramos, of Frank Espinoza’s “Espinoza Boxing Club”, is already looked upon as one of the hottest young prospects in boxing.  After a decorated amateur career spanning more than 100 fights and 6 national championships, Ramos turned to the professional ranks in late 2007.  Having already built an impressive record of 16 wins, 8 coming by way of knockout, Ramos’ following in the Southern California area is impressive, to say the least.  Ramos is never in a dull fight, and fights with a crowd-pleasing style.  Keep an eye on Ramos in the near future, as his next scheduled bout is set to be televised on Telefutura on September 17, 2010, from Los Angeles, California.

WILFREDO VAZQUEZ JR. KO\'S MARVIN SONSONA WITH A BODYSHOT

In a clash for the vacant WBO junior featherweight championship, Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) scored an impressive fourth round KO over previously unbeaten former WBO super flyweight champion Marvin Sonsona (14-1-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Vazquez Jr., son of Puerto Rican ring great Wilfredo Vazquez, took over the fight in round two and battered the 19-year-old former 115lb champion who had moved up two divisions to the deck in the fourth. A Vazquez left hook to the body ended it for Sonsona at the 2:01 mark. He did not beat the count of referee Luis Pabon.
