Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a suspect in yet another domestic violence case. Multiple police cruisers showed up outside his Las Vegas mansion this morning. TMZ reported that Las Vegas Metro PD received a call at 5:03 am this morning from Mayweather’s girlfriend, Josie Harris. Harris claimed the former Pound-For-Pound king assaulted her. TMZ also reported that Harris was taken to Southern Hills Hospital for observation, and was released shortly thereafter. Police were unable to find Mayweather for questioning, and are now looking for him.

Harris accused Mayweather of punching and kicking her inside his Bentley in 2003. The charges were dropped after she later recanted her accusations, saying she was angered that the boxer left her for another woman.

Last week, Official Scorecard was in attendance in sunny Beverly Hills, California as Top Rank Promotions formally announced the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. The bout will take place November 13, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The winner will claim the vacant WBC Super Welterweight title. The Press Tour to promote what could end up being the biggest fight of twenty-ten has concluded. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale September 18, 2010, and will be priced from $50 to $700.

Check out what Antonio Margarito and the rest had to say!

Antonio Margarito

“I’ve been asking for this fight a long time, I’m very happy and motivated that it’s here. I want to thank Manny for taking this fight.”

“Everything that’s happened is in the past; we’re now in the present.”

Michael Koncz (Pacquiao’s Advisor):

“I’d like to thank the media for coming out. But on the other hand I’d like to scold the media, the media that’s writing that we shouldn’t be fighting Margarito and so forth. I think it’s absurd. He was suspended, he served his suspension and it’s over with. That was the most viable opponent for Manny to fight. It’s a business and we have to look at it as a business.”

“If you’re not gonna support the fight, maybe don’t write anything about it. It’s gonna be a good fight because styles make fights, so that’s all I’m asking. Stop criticizing. Like a great Congressman said in the Philippines, ‘let’s move on and forget the past and concentrate on the fight.’ “

Mauricio Sulaiman (WBC Representative):

“The WBC is very proud to be part of this event. This will be the one thousand, eight hundred twentieth world title fight in our history. This belt; the WBC Super Welterweight belt has been worn by great fighters like Nino Benvenuti, Benitez, Hearns, Terry Norris, Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, Mayweather, and recently by Sergio Martinez.”

“We have a special belt for this occasion. It’s the first and only time, but the Dallas Cowboys will be featured, as well as Top Rank, will be featured on the belt. The two pictures of Pacquiao and Margarito are here. The winner on November 13 will bring home the one-time edition of this belt.”

Robert Garcia (Margarito’s Trainer)

“My job is to prepare my fighter. I’ve done everything I can to produce a couple of world champions, and now working with Margarito is a great experience.”

“Come November 13…we’re going in against Freddy Roach and Manny Pacquiao. He is a great fighter a great champion, but we have a tremendous fighter in Antonio Margarito.”

“Pacquiao is a legend, but we’re going to make history.”

Alex Ariza (Pacquiao’s Strength & Conditioning Coach):

“I’d like to thank Antonio Margarito for showing up today and putting his name on the dotted line. That seems like a tough thing to do these days.”

“They [Pacquiao’s opponents] definitely seem to be getting bigger and bigger. But that’s Manny. He always likes a challenge, he never likes to do anything easy.”

“Everybody keeps saying we’ve got a tough fight on our hands, but we’ve always got a tough fight on our hands. Every fight that we’ve been in , the guy has been bigger, stronger, supposed to do this or that or whatever. And Manny prevails.”

“I think it’s probably going to be fight of the year.”

UFC Star Vitor Belfort is asking Dana White to fight James Toney in a 6 round boxing match. James Toney made headlines when he crossed over to MMA and fought Randy Couture, losing via choke in the first round. Belfort is looking to make headlines by staging a UFC fight under boxing rules against the future Hall of Fame boxer. Belfort has always been known as an excellent boxer with great hand speed. However, he will be in for a shock when he trades punches with a guy whose primary trade since 1988 has been to fight under the rules of boxing. Belfort has a lot to lose, and likely little money to earn, while Toney has little to lose at this point, and likely another huge check to cash. If James Toney made 750 large for 3 minutes and 9 seconds of being grounded, pounded, and choked, how much will he rake in for 6 rounds in the cage?

Tuesday, Official Scorecard was in attendance in sunny Beverly Hills, California as Top Rank Promotions formally announced the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. The bout will take place at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The winner will claim the vacant WBC Super Welterweight title. Freddy Roach and his proclivity for making headline-quality statements to the media were unable to attend. As the Press Tour moves on to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas to promote what could end up being the biggest fight of twenty-ten, Manny Pacquiao has began to open up to the press.

Check out a few of Manny Pacquiao’s best quotes from the tour!

“I’m just a fighter doing my job and it’s gonna be a great fight.”

“I believe that Margarito has the capability to give a good show. His style is of a very aggressive fighter, and he’s bigger than me.”

“Please go out and don’t miss it. It’s going to be a great fight on November 13.”

“For me, I am satisfied with my boxing achievements. I don’t need Mayweather now, he needs me. It’s the fans who suffer.”

“I don’t know what happened but it was my decision on testing. I agreed to this so that I could see, so that I could really know what is the reason, really, that he won’t fight me.”

“Manny Pacquiao, in seeking to win this fight will be going for an unheard of 8 world titles in 8 different divisions. Nobody in boxing history has even come close.” - Bob Arum, Top Rank Promotions

By Charlene “The Sports Girl” May

Earlier today, Official Scorecard was in attendance in sunny Beverly Hills, California as Top Rank Promotions formally announced the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito. The bout will take place at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The winner will claim the vacant WBC Super Welterweight title. Freddy Roach and his proclivity for making headline-quality statements to the media were unable to attend.

Check out a few of Bob Arum’s quotes of the day!

Antonio Margarito, who only knows a real fight, will be back in action facing a guy who you’ve watched over these past number of years who always comes to fight – The Congressman from Saranghani, Manny Pacquiao”

“Jerry Jones was unable to be here today. His Cowboys are playing their final exhibition game on Thursday. Both fighters will appear at the game. I hope that neither of them get pressed into service at Cornerback. Jerry will join us on Friday at the press conference at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.”

“The Cowboys are setting up the stadium to seat 70,000 people. If those tickets are sold, and we believe they will be and maybe more, it will be the biggest attendance at a live gate in recent times in the United States.”

“The biggest crowd was 60-some-thousand at the Superdome foe the Ali-Spinks fight, and we believe that this will set the record for modern times, of a live attendance at an event.”

“We’re also very pleased to announce today that this fight will be fought for the vacant WBC Super Welterweight championship.”

“Manny Pacquiao, in seeking to win this fight will be going for an unheard of 8 world titles in 8 different divisions. Nobody in boxing history has even come close.”

“Everybody knows that when they come to watch an Antonio Margarito fight, they’re gonna see action. There’s not gonna be a lot of boxing, there won’t be a lot of defense, there’s gonna be action. And people, I believe to my core, want to see action.”

“The challenges this guy [Pacquiao] has faced, whether it’s in politics or in the boxing ring, have been enormous.”

“Every single fight is a great, great performance. It is so entertaining and it comes not from somebody who brags about how much money he’s making, or how much he can throw away in night clubs.

We will be updating our blog to cover all of the lastest Pacquiao vs. Margarito news

So after all that talk we don’t get Pacquiao-Mayweather after all. It all ended up to be just a huge stressball of a rollercoaster ride that saw uncle Bob Arum finally prove to be telling the truth for once, when Ross Greenburg exposed Richard Schaeffer and all of Mayweather’s minions to be in on the scam that scammed the world. So Floyd Mayweather doesn’t want to fight Manny Pacquiao, what’s new? Well at least not this year claimed Arum, who cited Roger Mayweather’s legal troubles and IRS taxation issues to be the main hindrances to the Mega Fight in this leg of the negotiations. What we’re left with is something no one really wants to see, Pacquiao – Margarito on November 13th.

Though Antonio Margarito isn’t as interesting an opponent for Pacquiao as say maybe Timothy Bradley or Andre Berto, there is still much to be expected from the former ‘most avoided man on the planet’. ‘Margacheato’, the artist formerly known as ‘The Tijuana Tornado’, used to be ducked and dodged like the plague and belonged to the absolute elite in Boxing. If you had Mayweather ducking him, you know he was good. It wasn’t until a guy like Miguel Cotto who avoided no one, faced him and threw every punch in the book. He tagged Margarito over and over but to no avail, the man’s chin was solid as rock. With the Cotto win, Margarito was on the top of the Boxing world.

Until ‘Plastergate’, when he was caught with an illegal substance in his handwraps minutes before his fight with Shane Mosley, Margarito was the man to beat.

Enter Manny Pacquiao, who is on a winning streak of a lifetime beating names like Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Dela Hoya, Hatton, Cotto and Clottey. Not only did he beat them, he obliterated them. However, I can understand the resent fans feel when speaking of the Pacquiao – Margarito fight, simply put it’s definitely not what the world wants but we will all have to learn to live with it. Whether or not Margarito deserves the shot at facing the Pound for Pound King is another story. Margarito’s disgraced career will always be under review.

As for Pacquiao, whoever he fights, he will always be remembered for who he fought and not who he avoided. A knock on Floyd, yes, but it has always been that way. I guess we just have to hold our breaths until chapter 3 of the Pacquiao – Mayweather talks resume. Though I’d most surely want to change the program, I’d stick to watching a re-run of Pacquiao beating Dela Hoya to a pulp, but in Antonio Margarito packaging. Watching Pacquiao fight anybody is way better than watching Floyd on TMZ anyways.

And real fighters fight. There should be no question as to who the pound for pound king is anymore.

CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL – Earlier today the weigh in for Boxing at the Bay 4: Unbreakable took place at the Ruby Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Mandaluyong City, Philippines. Coming off a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Carlos Tamara last January, Viloria looks to begin his climb back to the top and into title contention against tough Mexican, Omar Soto. Viloria had no problem making the Flyweight limit as did Soto. The fighters will square off this Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City for 12 rounds of Boxing.

Also schedule to fight is up and coming Lightweight, Al Sabaupan of Touch Gloves Boxing Gym in Agoncillo, Batangas (the same stable as Drian “Gintong Kamao” Francisco). He will be taking on Wonchit Twins Gym of Thailand. Sabaupan is the reigning IBF Pan Pacific Lightweight champion, a title he won at the last Boxing at the Bay. During the weigh in, Sabaupan tipped the scales at a trim 133.5 while his opponent came in over the limit and needed a couple of hours to try and shed the excess pounds. In the end, Wonchit Twins Gym logged in at a solid 140 lbs., we have received word that the fight is still on although it will be a Non-Title fight.

Special thanks to the Solar Sports team for accommodating OfficialScoreCard.com!

Also in attendance was former world champion, “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona and our very good friend Elmer Anuran, manager of Drian “Gintong Kamao” Francisco who says he has big plans for Francisco, and could be getting him on the Pacquiao-Mayweather undercard should the super fight push through this November.
