CORNELIUS "K9" BUNDRAGE HAS BEEN RELEASED BY "THE CONTENDER" WANTS PAUL WILLIAMS
By Shawn

admin@officialscorecard.com

Cornelius "K9" Bundrage has informed Officialscorecard.com that he has been released from his promotional contract with the "Contender" and he is now a free agent. Cornelius is ranked number 2 by the IBF and has already fought 2 mandatory's to get that spot. His record stands at 29-4, 17 KO's. Don King has been protecting Corey Spinks and has been giving me the run around. I want to know when Don King will honor the IBF rankings and give me my title shot? I tell you what though, if Corey doesn't want to fight me then I would not mind fighting the winner of Paul Williams vs Sergeii Dzinziruk if they fight. Haven't you noticed nobody has come knocking at my door to fight me? Why do I have to call out the fighters and I am the number 2 guy? There is no number 1, so technically I am the number 1 guy. Now that I am a free agent, let's see who starts calling to take my number 1 spot. They don't want the Dawg. Man up Don King and give Cornelius his title shot.

SUGAR SHANE MOSELY VS ANDRE BERTO, HEATED WORDS EXCHANGED YESTERDAY
By Brandon Marrero

Earlier today there was a couple of words sent back and fourth on twitter. On one end was WBA Champion Shane Mosley and on the other WBC champion Andre berto. Its obvious Shane is looking for a fight in January with someone but no one has officially signed on to take the challenge. Today Shane was on Twitter calling out Berto saying "Its all on him I'm ready to fight anyone so why he don't just sign on already?" shortly after Berto posted "All I am doing is hearing you, Shane my team hasn't seen a contract so stop with all that big boy talk its not you". Obviously this touched a nerve with Berto because they have been going back and fourth all day so this leaves the big question will Shane and Berto get it on?

My take on this fight is that it is a pretty good matchup two fighters who possess speed and power. Shane is a very

UPDATES FROM EL PASO, TEXAS MAIN EVENT HECTOR CAMACHO JR VS YORI BOY CAMPAS
By Charlene May

sportsgirl@officialscorecard.com

Hector Camacho Jr. score a split decision over Yory Boy Campas. A slow, boring, and dull fight. There was more excitement from the low blows and fouls. Camacho Jr. was deducted 3 points during the fight. The scores were 95-92, 96-91 Camacho and 95-92 Campas. One has to wonder how Camacho didn't get disqualified for all the low blows and point deductions.

Antonio Escalante 22-2, 14 KOs scored an impressive second round KO over Carlos Fulgencio.

Abel Perry scored a fifth round TKO over Bobby Joe Valdez. Perry's record moves to 13-3, 4 KO's.

David Medina and Miguel Hernandez went 8 but Hernandez couldn't keep up with Medinas combinations and lead rights. Medina won by unanimous decision improving to 21-2.

TEXAS HAS A NEW RISING STAR- PART 2
by Charlene May
sportsgirl@officialscorecard.com

I can't imagine how many times during my week I catch myself thinking of the quote, “Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” by the great Muhammad Ali. As one of my favorite quotes, I may quote it, tweet it, or just think it, to help me get my swagger on.

How many times in the past two weeks have I thought to myself, if God can forgive Mike Tyson then why can’t everyone else? Too many to count is the answer.  I look forward to a day where the rest of the world realizes that life is like a sport, and most wrongs should be forgotten, forgiven, or better yet embraced, so as players, we can learn and move on to become our best. Let’s de-clutter our mind and focus on the future.

As you read my article on Omar Henry “Texas Has A New Rising Star" - Part One. I hope you picked up that this young boxer is more than an athlete with an attitude of entitlement. He is a boxer with skill and talent that doesn’t leave his integrity at home when headed for the ring. At a young age, he has already sacrificed enough to understand the consequences to reach the dream. He shared with me his love for boxing and how much he really has sacrificed because of his love and dedication for the sport.

TEXAS HAS A NEW RISING STAR
By Charlene May
sportsgirl@officialscorecard.com

The O. Henry Way - Part One

Texans seem to have a love affair with stars. After all, Texas is also referred to as The Lone Star State, one of the most recognized nicknames in our great country.  With a single star on the flag, a star as the state’s seal and even a college ring proudly displaying stars since 1894 as part of its legacy, I feel compelled to boast about a young boxer that I call a new rising star in boxing, Omar Henry. Henry hails from Chicago, is of Puerto Rican descent, but resides in the great state of Texas.

Recently, I traveled four hours to meet and watch Omar Henry bring his best to The Hall of Fame Fight in Corpus Christi, Texas, presented by Top Rank, Inc.  While Henry is known for his haymakers, I was not disappointed in his ability to throw combinations, going all four rounds and winning by unanimous decision. He was also not lacking in class, charm, or swagger. The Texas Rising Star, O. Henry brings his best to train, to fight and to interview.

ARTHUR ABRAHAM BELIEVES THAT NIKOLIA VALUEV WILL BEAT DAVID HAYE
King Arthur Abraham believes that Nikolai Valuev will successfully defend his WBA Heavyweight Title against David Haye. The Russian Giant takes on the British challenger in Nuremberg on November 7. Fresh off a mini vacation in Rome following his spectacular Super Six World Boxing Classic KO victory over Jermain Taylor, King Arthur popped into the Max-Schmeling-Gym today where Valuev held an open training session for the press. “I think Nikolai is going to win,” King Arthur said. “For Haye it will be difficult to come out of cruiserweight and fight a man that is as tall and heavy as Valuev. I think Haye will tire towards the end because he has a lot of size to push away. Haye is a good boxer, no doubt about that, but I believe that Niko will take care of business. He will control the fight with his long left jab.”

I'M YOUR SPORTS GIRL AND IT'S "THE YEAR OF THE BOXER"
By Charlene May

sportsgirl@officialscorecard.com

For a boxing fan, a seat in the technical zone may be a dream come true, but is it really all that it’s cracked up to be? Sitting only ten feet away from the ropes you see and feel the blood, sweat, and saliva flying in mid air. Could that really be appealing?

Just the sound of ten ounce gloves jabbing into a boxer’s ribs makes the gloves sound like ten pounds when you hear the groan as a fighter gets punched.

As one of the only female press members at this Hall of Fame fight in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 17, 2009, I traveled four hours to meet and get a personal interview with two shining new stars, Omar Henry and Raul Martinez.  Both brought their “A” game to Whataburger Field for the Hall of Fame Fight.  I could have easily met with Omar Henry in Houston to get my story on this Texas rising star and his 6/0 record.  I could have interviewed Raul Martinez by phone to discuss his impressive record (24-1,15 KO.) However, I would have missed the thunder from that clear night, the thunder that was only present in my heart as I saw the passion and skill these men have for boxing and being part of something great. Seeing these young, great boxers, fight it out to be the best, made my trip one that I cherish and will not soon forget.

Whataburger Field, Corpus Christi, Texas – Top Rank prospect Omar Henry got a few rounds under his belt while facing some adversity in going the distance for the first time in his young career. Henry traveled to Corpus Christi to fight alongside his stable mate and fellow rising prospect Jerry Belmontes at the minor league baseball stadium which houses the Houston Astros Double-A team.

After five consecutive first round knockouts to begin his professional career, Henry faced off with rugged veteran Cuban Carlos Aballe now hailing from Miami, Florida. Aballe had knocked off unbeaten prospects before and had never been stopped in a four round fight.

SUPER SIX ROUND ONE
By Frankie Gonzalez Jr.

Thank God for The Super Six Super Middleweight Tournament. This is exactly what boxing needs. Its a good sign that some promoters finally recognize the importance of doing something to make boxing more exciting and appealing to sports fans in general with a tournament form competition, which has long been common place in most other sports.

I hope this tournament inspires more divisions to do the same, maybe we’ll live to see one real Champion in each division instead of the circus we have today with four or more “champions” in each division. Kudos to the promoters who made this happen.

ANDRE WARD: "I WOULD LOVE 2 WIN TITLES AT 168, 175, & HEAVY ONE DAY, I BELIEVE IT CAN BE DONE!"
By admin@officialscorecard.com

Officialscorecard.com got a chance to catch up with Andre Ward as he prepares for the fight of his life against Mikkel Kessler. He discusses his chances of winning and fighting the best first, and hopefully winning titles one day in different weight classes including the Heavyweight Title.

OSC:  How are you doing today Andre?
AW:  I’m doing good, happy to be on with you.

OSC:  So you are in the Super Six Tournament. How did it feel to be selected to be apart of this big tournament?
AW:  I thought it was a great honor to even be considered, it’s a lot of other good fighters in this division, even guys that are in light heavyweight and middleweight that could have moved up or down just to be in this tournament.  It was just great that they considered me being that it was only six slots. I didn’t really think it would come together because it was a lot to ask. Not only six promoters or 5 promoters cause 1 promoter promotes 2 guys Sutherland but not only just promoters but promoters overseas and television is involved. It was just a lot of factors involved which kinda caused me to doubt, but hey it’s together and I’m ready to go.

LOU DIBELLA: JERMAINE'S GOING INTO THE LION'S DEN TO FIGHT A GUY WHO FOUGHT 8 ROUNDS WITH A BROKEN JAW AND STILL WON.
By Marcos@officialscorecard.com

OfficialScoreCard.com has a chance to speak with famed promoter Lou DiBella on the subject of many things. Part one of this interview covered the ranging topics behind the Paulie Malignaggi/Juan Diaz rematch and the current state of the yet to be announced rematch. The conclusion of our interview with Lou, sees him share his thought on the middleweight Super Six tournament, Jermain Taylor’s chances and why the upcoming Manny Pacquiao/Miguel Cotto fight is not such of a mismatch.

OSC: So what are you thoughts on the Super Six middleweight tournament and Jermain Taylor’s chances against Arthur Abraham?

LD: Let me answer that as two separate questions, I think the Super Six tournament is great; I love the concept of the round robin. I love the fact that you have six of the top fighters in there with different permutations and matchups and that one loss doesn’t knock you out. I love the whole way it’s being done, its innovative. I give Showtime and Hershman tremendous props for coming up with it, because right now our sport is not creative enough. We got to move our sport into the 21st century so that it can regain its past glory and stop doing s**t the same f***ing old fashion way. So I love it!
