JUAN MANUEL LOPEZ IS READY FOR HIS SUPER BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE DEFENSE AGAINST ROGERS MTAGWA
Juanma Lopez announces he is ready for his title defense against Rogers Mtagwa in his Super Bantamweight bout live from The Wamu Theater at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Juanma Lopez is coming off a first round destruction of Daniel Ponce De leon and feels confident that his skills will carry him to a victory hopefully landing him a shot at a big name opponent. Also in talks is a fight with another undefeated prospect and WBA Featherweight Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa who will be fighting on the same card as Juanma Lopez in the next installment of the Latin Fury Series. Juanma Lopez is a well rounded fighter and lots of boxing fans are curious to see how his career will play out these should be exciting fights come Saturday.

WS: I don't know, maybe 50/50 chance, what it is is that Malignaggi wanted the rematch, but they wanted it in New York at first and no place in New York wanted him, then they tried Alantic City and Connecticut and nobody wanted it. He's not popular up there either. Now they are saying Chicago, so I don't have no ideal whether the fight is going to take place or not.

Johns one of the trainers at Juan Diaz's camp and he said that HBO is pushing for the rematch in New York. Juan Diaz won a controversial 12 round boxing match over Malignaggi in Juan's hometown of Houston, TX last month. One has to wonder how the rematch will turn out in New York. Last night was the battle of the giants with Vitali Klitschko facing undefeated Chris Arreola. Since the start of the bell it was certain that Klitscko’s size and skill would be too much for Arreola to bear. Vitali Klitschko controlled the fight with his high amount of punches, height and ability to retrieve when necessary. Arreola’s extra preparation for this fight was not enough to stop Dr. Iron Fist from the punishment he would supply. In the 10th round Arreola’s corner said no more so the fight was called, Chris was willing to continue like the true warrior he is but there was no reason for receiving any more damage.

In the end this fight wasnt about the size or heart a fighter has but the technical skill they posses and thats why the champion is Vitali Klitschko. Honestly we are getting to the point in the heavyweight division were the only thing left worth watching will be a showdown with Brother, and IBF and WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko I think that is the ones boxing fans would love to see.

This past Saturday we witnessed the destruction of Juan Manuel Marquez caused by the undefeated former pound for pound best Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd had retired from the sport over a year ago, he then decided to come back and show the world that his short retirement was just needed rest. During the fight he proved to still have all the necessary skills to be pound for pound best and made sure to show the boxing world that his retirement did not take any skill away.
When Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired with the words “the sport will not retire me I will retire from the sport” it left many in shock. For some Floyd was just a tired athlete looking to enjoy his many millions with family and friends for the rest of his life but for many others Floyd’s retirement was just a way to avoid what was coming his way. He was ranked number one welterweight and number one pound for pound but breathing down his neck was a competition ready to dethrone the best in the sport.

Before we could even let Michael Buffer finish announcing the winner of last Saturday night’s huge mega-fight, we were already planning our revenge on Floyd Mayweather Jr. by putting him in the ring with the Filipino sensation, Manny Pacquiao. It is the logical choice for Mayweather’s next fight, and Pacquiao should he get past Cotto. It is unmistakably the fight the entire world wants to see, ‘Numero Dos’ versus pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world. It would be an interesting clash of styles to say the least, and probably the aspect of the game that holds the most intrigue for we have not witnessed a defense as great as Mayweather’s and neither have we seen an offense so forceful and effective as that of Manny Pacquiao’s.

Last night the UFC made its first trip to Dallas, Texas for UFC 103. The fans inside the American Airlines Center saw one of the most disappointing fight cards in a long time. In my preview I said that this was a card made for SpikeTV rather than pay per view and I feel even more let down the day after.
The main event saw the return of Vitor Belfort. His return didn’t last too long as he destroyed Rich Franklin in right around three minutes. Welcome back to the UFC Vitor. This fight didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me from the beginning. It was fought at a catch weight of 195 pounds.

Last Night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas
Exciting and not so exciting bouts occurred last night. HBO began to televise with a featherweight match featuring an undefeated up and comer from San Juan Puerto Rico, Orlando Cruz (16-1) vs. the 30 year old Cornelius Lock (19-4) from Detroit. Orlando looked good at the start of the bell but was put down with a devastating blow to the head before the first round was over. Orlando then managed to out box Cornelius for the later rounds till he then caught another hard blow on the fifth round that gave Cruz the first loss of his career.

The proverbial trumpet has sounded, the king has arrived. Last night, Floyd Mayweather Jr., cruised to a lopsided decision victory possibly at the expense of Juan Manuel Marquez's career. For those fortunate enough not to have had to pay for this one on HBO PPV, wondering whether or not 'Money' looked rusty after a 21-month hiatus, well, he's pretty much still at the top of his game and looked mightily invincible for twelve one sided rounds.

Money is back. The best pound for pound fighter in the last ten years is making his way back into the ring tonight after nearly a two year layoff.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39-0 25 KO) was last seen in December of 2007 when he simply destroyed Ricky Hatton. He rode off into the sunset with fat pockets after two huge paydays. Before beating Hatton, Mayweather outclassed “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya. Retirement seemed to make sense for a fighter who made a ton of money over the years. His flashy lifestyle is how he was given the nickname “Money.”
