Luis Ramos, of Frank Espinoza’s “Espinoza Boxing Club”, is already looked upon as one of the hottest young prospects in boxing.  After a decorated amateur career spanning more than 100 fights and 6 national championships, Ramos turned to the professional ranks in late 2007.  Having already built an impressive record of 16 wins, 8 coming by way of knockout, Ramos’ following in the Southern California area is impressive, to say the least.  Ramos is never in a dull fight, and fights with a crowd-pleasing style.  Keep an eye on Ramos in the near future, as his next scheduled bout is set to be televised on Telefutura on September 17, 2010, from Los Angeles, California.

WILFREDO VAZQUEZ JR. KO'S MARVIN SONSONA WITH A BODYSHOT
In a clash for the vacant WBO junior featherweight championship, Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) scored an impressive fourth round KO over previously unbeaten former WBO super flyweight champion Marvin Sonsona (14-1-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Vazquez Jr., son of Puerto Rican ring great Wilfredo Vazquez, took over the fight in round two and battered the 19-year-old former 115lb champion who had moved up two divisions to the deck in the fourth. A Vazquez left hook to the body ended it for Sonsona at the 2:01 mark. He did not beat the count of referee Luis Pabon.

MIKE NO JOKE STEWART SCORED A FIFTH ROUND KO
The comeback of former USBA junior welterweight champion Mike “No Joke” Stewart (45-7-2, 24 KOs) rolls on after he scored an impressive one-punch knockout of Brandon “The Business” Baue (12-4, 10 KOs) last night at sold-out Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware. Stewart cut and dropped Baue in the opening minute of the fight, and went on to catch Baue with a counter left hook and finish him at 1:35 of the fifth round of the scheduled eight round welterweight bout. In the co-feature, “Mighty” Mike Tiberi (12-1, 5 KOs) took a hard fought unanimous decision over Michael “Show Time” Raynor (6-15, 5 KOs) in a six round middleweight bout. Dover Downs Hotel & Casino promoted the big eight bout show.

VICTOR ORTIZ GETS THE KO IN THE 10TH AND FINAL ROUND
Welterweight contender Victor Ortiz (26-2-1, 21 KO’s) knocked out Hector Alatorre in the 10th and final round at Club Nokia at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. Ortiz started slow against the defensive-minded Alatorre, but came on aggressively as the bout progressed. Although Alatorre (16-9, 5 KO’s) had his moments, Ortiz was in command as he landed the more effective punches. In the 10th round, Ortiz stunned Alatorre with a left hand before dropping him with a right uppercut to the head. Alatorre stood up and walked to his corner on shaky legs, prompting referee David Mendoza to step in and stop the bout at 51 seconds. Next for Ortiz is a rumored bout against former world champion Nate Campbell.

HOF TRAINER ANGELO DUNDEE SPECIAL GUEST AT THE BROWN VS GRANO FIGHT
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Living legend, Hall of Fame trainer Angelo Dundee will be a special guest at the “Brace For Impact” pro boxing card, presented March 12 by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc. (CES), in Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

The 10-round main event is a rematch between heavyweights Tony “TNT” Grano and Mark “Oak Tree” Brown. Brown (15-2, 7 KOs) overcame two knockdowns to stop Grano (16-1-1, 13 KOs), fighting out of Hartford (CT), in the eighth round of their WBF All-Americas title bout Sept. 27, 2008. Grano is the 2005 U.S. National Championships winner and National Golden Gloves Tournament runner-up, and has won two in a row since suffering his lone loss as a pro to Brown, highlighted by a sensational, nationally-televised knockout of previously-undefeated prospect Travis Kaufman (18-0) last September.

ANDRE DIRRELL INJURED HIS BACK, ARTHUR ABRAHAM FIGHT POSTPONED
Super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell revealed tonight to radio host Marc Lichtenfeld on his weekly “Through the Ropes” radio show that he injured his back earlier this week while sparring and will see a specialist tomorrow. Dirrell said he has previously thrown out his back and expects to be out for one week to two weeks. Nothing official as far as a new date for his scheduled March 6th SUPER SIX fight against Arthur Abraham on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, however a media conference call scheduled for Friday was cancelled. More will be resolved Friday.

CHRIS ARREOLA VS TOMASZ ADAMEK APRIL 24TH IN ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA
A press conference has been called to announce an April 24th heavyweight showdown between Chris Arreola (28-1, 25 KOs) and Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KOs). The bout will take place at the new Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. It wil be Arreola’s second fight at the arena. The event will be billed as “Ring of Fire” and be televised on HBO BAD.

CRISTIAN MIJARES IS INJURED
HOBOKEN, N.J. – An injury to Cristian Mijares has forced the former 2-time world champion off a February 27 card in Cancun, which has been cancelled and replaced by a world-class show in Guadalajara, Mexico, on “The Double Assault” pay-per-view extravaganza.

“After looking forward to coming back and restoring his rightful place among the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world,” KO Entertainment president Ignacio “Nacho” Huizar explained, “Cristian Mijares was crushed with disappointment to learn a broken eardrum he suffered December 12 hasn’t healed properly and doctors wouldn’t clear him to fight Feb. 27.”

Not of epidemic proportions but for boxing it’s threatening to destroy a whole weight class. You guessed it! The 140lb weight class is in fear of TB. That’s right, Tim Bradley. Because of all the shock and awe wreaked on Lamont Peterson and Kendall Holt now the 140lb class is running scared from Desert Storm. Call the roll. None of them want any.

LATIN FURY 13, NONITO DONAIRE AND FERNANDO MONTIEL WIN AND UNDERCARD RESULTS

WBA interim super flyweight interim champion Nonito Donaire (23-1, 15 KOs) scored a third round KO over late sub Manuel ‘Chango’ Vargas (26-5-1, 11 KOs) in a non-title bout on Saturday night. Donaire was in command all the way before laying out Vargas for the count with a left uppercut at 1:33. Nonito original opponent could not fight after he failed an eye exam. The Filipino Flash looked good and possible could get back in the ring with Vic Darchinyan. Darchinyan has been looking for a rematch since Nonito defeated him. -Dax

Fernando Montiel defends his WBO Bantamweight title and improves to 40-2-2 earning his 30th knockout at 2:06 in round number 1 giving Ciso Morales his first professional loss(14-1 8KO). Montiel landed a jab, followed by a Straight right to the head and finishing with a viscious left hook to the body that would end the fight. The 22 year old Morales was no match for the champion. Montiel won his match, and Erik Morel(42-2 21KO) won a close decision against Gerry Penalosa(54-8-2 34KO) in his WBO interim Bantamweight title bout, so it looks like we can look forward to Montiel vs Morel. Should be a good one. -Richard

A Pay Per View live from the Hilton in Las Vegas, which will hold a main event that has "The Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire taking on Manuel Vargas in a 12 round bout for Donaire's WBA Interim title.  Although, not the opponent Donaire was preparing for, it should still be an exciting fight, because Donaire always seems to bring the excitement!

DON KING PRODUCTIONS COUNTERS LATEST OFFER FROM K2 PROMOTIONS
Press Release: Don King Productions and Sauerland Event have countered K2 Promotions latest offer to former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev (50-2, 34 KOs) to face reigning WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) with a deal calling for a 60-40 percentage split. “They approached us with a $1 million offer for Valuev to face Vitali, and Sauerland Event and I told them we would like $4 million for the fight,” King said.  “Now they’ve come back to us with a $2 million guarantee.  We countered with a 60-40 split of revenue.

Miami rapper Rick Ross ended his beef with boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. during a formal one-on-one discussion. The "Boss" promised he and Mayweather are no longer enemies. "Yeah, bumped into Floyd Mayweather," Ross said. "Most definitely. We chopped it up like G's and after a discussion, we shook hands. So that's squashed. It's a new year, it's time to get new money. Y'all know what it is. I kept it 1,000." (MTV) Reports last month said rap mogul Diddy had to break-up a potential fight between Ross and Floyd.

CES INKS 3 FIGHT SERIES AT FOXWOOD

The first show is scheduled for March 12 with the rematch between heavyweights Tony “TNT” Grano (16-1-1, 13 KOs) and Mark “Oak Tree” Brown (15-2, 7 KOs) headlining “Brace For Impact” in Fox Theater at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn. “Brace For Impact” will also include a dynamic undercard, which will be announced shortly. The other CES dates at Foxwoods are Sept. 24 and Oct. 22.

MAURICE HARRIS GOING BACK TO THE FUTURE
NEW YORK – Veteran heavyweight Maurice “Sugar Moe” Harris, inactive for the previous 26 months, recently returned to the ring (Jan. 29) in Albuquerque, impressively winning a 6-round unanimous decision (60-54, 60-54, 58-56) against battle-tested Billy “The Kid” Zumbrun.

The 33-year-old Harris (21-14-2, 10 KOs), winner of the “2002 Thunderbox Heavyweight Tournament,” had fought only four times in the past seven years due to his promotional/managerial problems. His comeback is under the banner of his new promoter, Boxing 360.
