WILFREDO VAZQUEZ JR.
Name: Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.

Record: 18-0 (15) KOs

Division: Super Bantamweight 122 lbs

What can we say about this kid? He seems to have the same superstar status as his dad. Wilfredo has been boxing since Dec 2006 and he seems to have been on a terror. He has 15 Knockouts out of 18 fights. He recently showed us that he has bang in those gloves by stopping undefeated Marvin Sonsona. Even though he has big shoes to fill in regards to his father, we think he will be just fine. Looking forward to bigger and better fights this year. After all he has the new WBO Super featherweight belt to defend.

AMIR KHAN CONFIRMS FIGHT WITH PAULIE MALIGNAGGI
Britain's Amir Khan will defend his WBA light-welterweight title against Paulie Malignaggi in New York on 15 May, Golden Boy Promotions has confirmed.

The fight will take place at Madison Square Garden and will be Khan's first in the United States.

Khan, who won the title last July, had been expected to face Juan Manuel Marquez but that fight fell through.

He and Malignaggi are scheduled to meet at a press conference on Tuesday to formally announce the contest.

Malignaggi, who lost to Ricky Hatton in 2008, recently avenged a defeat by Juan Diaz last year to re-establish himself as as a world title contender.

But he will need to produce something special to beat Khan, who beat Dmitriy Salita in just 76 seconds in a mandatory title defence last December.

I reckon Malignaggi is gonna 'school' Khan, he is vastly underrated and Juan Diaz was a major player at lightweight and got made to look average by Paulie

Rumours circulated for some time about Khan's next fight, with Marquez and Marcos Maidana, the current mandatory challenger, among potential opponents.

But after Marquez reportedly turned down an offer to meet Khan, he turned his attention to 29-year-old New Yorker Malignaggi, who is also promoted by the American company.

"I'm just going to go in there to do what I normally do and I really think Malignaggi has a style which is going to make me look good," Khan said last month.

"He's not at my level. He has a few good wins in America, but it's another fight for me and I'll go there and do what I have to do."

New York State heavyweight champion Darrel “King David” Madison (14-1, 3 KOs), coming off of an 8-round split decision win last July against Nagy Aguilera, now rated No. 12 by the IBF, defends his title belt against dangerous southpaw Robert Wiggins (20-7-1, 12 KOs) in the 8-round main event.

First of all let me say I’m from Bayamon, Puerto Rico and growing up I met Vazquez Sr. I didn’t live there but played ball in Residencial Celso Barbosa where I still have friends and I’ll will be interviewing WV2 around April. So yes I might be little bias but not blind.

In round three, Niño hit Mayol with a clear low blow and while Mayol was waiting for referee Vic Drakulich to step in, Niño threw a left hook that knocked Mayol out cold.
